While cleaning out some old boxes of hockey stuff, I found a bunch of old Manitoba Moose "Moose News" newspaper inserts from the last 90's when the Moose played in the IHL. I have a real love for anything to do with the IHL as the International Hockey League of the 90's was what started my love of hockey. Here is an ad for two of my favourite IHL teams the Manitoba Moose Vs the Chicago Wolves!
While I was scanning this, I am listening to an old IHL game from the 2000 IHL Turner Cup Finals between the Chicago Wolves and Grand Rapids Griffins. I have tons of old audio recordings on VHS tapes that I am slowly turning into digital files and then dumping the tapes. Before this game, I was listening to the Muskegon Fury and Quad City Mallards in game #6 of the UHL Finals from May 14, 1999.

Quad City Mallards gone... a Storm is Coming!
The Quad City Mallards most recently of the ECHL are now once again being put into moth balls. The Mallards were a favourite team of mine since their UHL days. Next season, in their place will be a new SPHL team, the Quad City Storm. I'm disappointed to see the Quad City Mallards moth balled once again, but they seem to be a team that finds a way to resurface again and again, so I would not be surprised to see them playing again some time in the future. Until then, I kind of like the next Storm name and logo. In the past two of my favourite team logos were the Bakersfield Fog and the Muskegon Fury (by the way, I own jerserys from both of those teams).
